SECTION 14. Penalties

The comptroller or any employee in the office of the comptroller who knowingly violates, authorizes or directs another employee to violate any provision of this chapter or chapter twenty-nine shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars or by imprisonment in a jail or a house of correction for not more than one year, or both. In addition, if convicted of such violation the comptroller shall forfeit the bond required pursuant to section one.
