SECTION 443/4. Preference in promoting or hiring veteran, spouse of honorably discharged disabled veteran or surviving spouse of veteran

Notwithstanding chapter 151B, a private, nonpublic employer may provide a preference in promoting or hiring to: (i) a veteran; (ii) the spouse of an honorably discharged veteran who the United States Department of Veterans Affairs determines to be 100 per cent disabled as a result of enemy action or a service-connected accident; or (iii) the surviving spouse of a veteran.
