SECTION 42. Procurement of unlawful divorce

Whoever knowingly procures or obtains or assists another to procure or obtain any false, counterfeit or fraudulent divorce or judgment of divorce, or any divorce or judgment of divorce from a court of another state for or in favor of a person who at the time of making application therefor was a resident of this commonwealth, such court not having jurisdiction to grant such judgment, shall be punished by a fine of not more than two hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than six months.
