SECTION 79. Witnesses; summoning in Suffolk and Worcester; expenses

Officers in attendance upon the sessions of the superior court for criminal business in Suffolk county and the officers appointed for attendance on the sessions of the superior court for civil or criminal business in Worcester county shall summon witnesses on behalf of the commonwealth from any part of the commonwealth, but shall receive therefor no compensation in addition to their salaries except for expenses actually incurred and paid.
