No deputy sheriff or constable receiving a salary from the county shall be designated to attend, for compensation by the day, upon the sessions of the supreme judicial or superior court, and no deputy sheriff or constable shall receive compensation for attendance upon the sessions of more than one court, or upon more than one session of the same court, on the same day.
