SECTION 57. Rules for perpetuation of testimony of witnesses without commonwealth

The supreme judicial court may make rules for taking depositions to perpetuate the testimony of witnesses without the commonwealth, taken under a commission from the supreme judicial or the superior court, and for filing or recording them.
