SECTION 32. Interpreters and nonresident witnesses

  • District courts may allow reasonable compensation to interpreters for service rendered and to witnesses from without the commonwealth in criminal proceedings before them, which shall be paid by the commonwealth in the same manner as witness fees, and shall allow interpreters ordered by them to attend such proceedings before them but not called upon for service the sum of one dollar for each day of such attendance, which shall be paid in the manner aforesaid.
