CHAPTER 69. POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION |
SECTION 6. Teachers; applications for positions; qualifications

The department shall receive applications for the position of teacher from graduates of good moral character of any high school or state university in this commonwealth, or of any other school deemed by the department to be of equal grade, or of any reputable college. Such an application shall contain the applicant's name and address, and, briefly, his experience and qualifications, and shall be accompanied by a fee to be determined annually by the commissioner of administration under the provision of section three B of chapter seven. For a period not exceeding one year after receipt of such application and fee, the department shall communicate with the various school committees and with the applicant himself, with a view to securing such position; provided, that this service may be continued for one or more additional years upon payment by the applicant of an additional fee to be determined annually by the commissioner of administration under the provision of section three B of chapter seven for each such year.
