SECTION 39I. Child or family requiring assistance; appeal; rights and procedures

A child, parent, legal guardian or custodian may appeal from any order or determination, whether final or not final, made under sections 39E to 39H, inclusive. Pending the appeal, the juvenile court shall retain jurisdiction and may enter any order under this chapter to meet the needs of the child. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the appeal shall be to a single justice of the appeals court under section 118 of chapter 231 and shall proceed in accordance with the procedures governing petitions to a single justice.
